Ingrid McCurdy - Town Councilor
The Freemont Meadows neighborhood in the Town of Manlius is home for my family and me. With over 30 years of practical experience working in human services, health education and promotion, government, insurance, and school bus safety, I bring a person-centered focus to my work. My career has emphasized workplace skill development, culture and leading change which I now do as a consultant.
As a staff member for Senator Rachel May, I supported her as Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Aging as her Senior Policy Advisor. This led to my passion for age-friendly work including my experience working one-on-one with individuals with dementia. I’m pleased that the town has made a commitment to age-friendly principles and is part of AARP’s network of Age-Friendly Communities. As our population continues to age, it’s important for us to hear from our residents about what’s most important to them as they age. My Town of Manlius contributions include participating in developing the town's Climate Action Plan, adopted in 2023 and serving as a member of Sustainable Manlius. I gathered public input and carried out research to develop recommendations for EV charging support. This work serves as a roadmap as we continue to build capacity for EV charging in the town for residents and visitors.
I hold an Executive Master’s in Public Administration (EMPA) from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and a certificate in Conflict Resolution. I am dedicated to listening to the concerns and ideas of our residents, promoting transparency and accountability in decision-making processes, and advocating for policies that address housing across the lifespan, health, and life quality in our town.
