Overview

The Quarry Commission was assembled in 2024 to create a balance between the Quarry owner's desired commercial uses and the residents desire to mitigate health and safety risks. The Commission's responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Identifying the current and proposed uses of the Quarry.
  • Commissioning the study of, and, studying the current and proposed uses of the Quarry, and, the impacts of the same on surrounding properties within the Town.
  • Providing reports to the Town of Manlius Board on the effects of the current and proposed uses of the Quarry on surrounding properties within the Town.
  • Providing recommendations to the Town Board in regards to mitigating any negative impacts to the health, safety and welfare of Town residents stemming from current and proposed uses of the Quarry.

The Commission meets at regular intervals throughout the year and meetings are announced on the Town Website in the Public Calendar.
