 Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 04/23/2025

Open Podium
Scarlett Davidson of Kirkville spoke regarding her experience with the assessment office and the time it took to obtain an appointment to discuss her assessment concerns with the Assessor. 

Craig Dudczak of Fayetteville presented the Board with questions in regards to the presentation that was given by Sensys-Gatso during the April 9, 2025 Town Board Meeting. 

Public Hearing – Bond Resolution Highway Department Additions and Renovations
The Board held a public hearing to discuss the proposed Bond resolution for the Highway Department Additions and Renovations. The public had the opportunity to speaking in favor or opposition as well as ask the Board questions regarding the bond. Bob Seigart of Schopfer Architects LLP gave a presentation on the Highway Departments Additions and Renovations. The Public Hearing was held open for the next Town Board Meeting on May 14, 2025.

Town Highway Department - Additions and Renovations Presentation

Town Highway Department Permit – OCWA Proposed Hydrant and 6” Fire Service – Peregrine Senior Living
The Board approved the Highway Permit submitted by OCWA for the installation of a fire hydrant and 6” fire service at Peregrine Senior Living. 

Town Highway Department Permit – OCWA 2025 Cleaning and Lining – Southwood Water District
The Board approved the Highway Permit submitted by OCWA for the 2025 Cleaning and Lining of the Southwood Water District.

Town Highway Department – Truck 12 Equipment
Highway Superintendent Cushing advised the board that they will now by doing the fabrication of equipment for Truck 12 in house which will in return save money on the original price. 

Town Highway Department – Surplus of Vehicles
The Board approved the surplus of three (3) Highway Department vehicles to be sent to auction. 

Decommissioning Agreement – 7869 Peck Rd Solar Project
The Board approved the Decommissioning Agreement with NYSOLAR07 LLC for the solar project located at 7869 Peck Rd, Kirkville, NY Tax Map # 02.-01-32.1.

Hope for Heather Agreement
The Board approved the agreement for Hope for Heather which will be held on May 17, 2025 in the Village of Minoa.

Public Assembly Permit – School of Rock
The Board approved the Public Assembly Permit that was submitted by the School of Rock for the open house event that will be held on June 8, 2025 from 3PM-7PM at 311B Town Dr contingent on the applicant submitting a public safety plan and professional review. 

Other Business
Supervisor Deer spoke regarding budgeting software that the Board is looking into with ClearGov. The program would be forward facing for residents to be able to see the process in a clearer manner. The Board will be further discussing this at the next meeting on May 14, 2025.

Councilor Gonzalez-McCurdy announced that the next Age Friendly Community Meeting would be held on Monday April 28, 2025 at 8AM in the Boardroom. The Committee will be focusing on developing a community wide survey targeting the 45 + community.

Councilor Kriesel announced that she will be participating in the Focus Greater Syracuse’s forum regarding Housing Challenges in the Age of Micron. Councilor Kriesel also acknowledged earth day and announced that Earthfest will be held at Green Lakes State Park on May 18, 2025 from 12PM-3PM.

Councilor Italiano gave an update on the Fish Stock Event. During the event they raised $458.85 in donations as well as 416 pounds of food which equals 1,724 meals for local food banks. Councilor Italiano also announced that the local Fire Departments will be holding open houses on April 26, 2025 and April 27, 2025.

Councilor Nicholson gave an update on the Watershed Survey advising that 187 people took the survey. Councilor Nicholson also advised that he had received the Deer Management report and will be giving an update at the next meeting on May 14, 2025.

Councilor Bollinger announced that on May 17, 2025 at 10AM there will be a tree planting for erosion at Limestone. They have received 100 trees from the DEC that will be planted.
