Town Board Highlights - October 4, 2023

 Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 10/04/2023

Land Acknowledgement 

Councilor Bollinger read aloud a statement acknowledging that the Town of Manlius is located on the ancestral lands of the Onondaga Nation, one of six nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

Open Podium 

The Town Board heard from several residents asking the Town to support a contract with Immaculate Conception School for a SPO/SIRO. 

Public Hearing - Zone Change - 7078 East Genesee St., Fayetteville (Tax Map # 092.-01-05.0) R1 To RM

The Town Board held a public hearing and heard comments from the public. The public hearing was closed and the matter will be voted on at a future meeting. 

Public Hearing - Zone Change – Planned Unit Development - Highbridge St. (Tax Map # 093.-01-05.1) Garden Park

The Town Board held a public hearing and heard comments from the public. The public hearing was closed, and the matter will be voted on at a future meeting.

Continued Public Hearing - Zone Change (R5 To PUD) – Planned Unit Development - Twin Ponds, N. Burdick St.

The Town Board reviewed Part II of the EAF and will make a determination at a future meeting. The public hearing was held open, and the matter will be voted on at a future meeting. 

RT- Cannabis 

The Town Board set a date for a public hearing on October 18, 2023, at 6:35 PM to consider a proposed local law amending Chapter 155 of the Town Code to allow for short term agricultural retail (including cannabis sales) in the RT District and requiring an operating permit for the same under chapter 59 of the town code. 

Village of Manlius – Lease

The Town Board entered into a lease agreement with the Village of Manlius for the Town of Manlius Police Department for a 3-year period at a rate of $100,077.30 increasing by 2% each subsequent year. 

Skyridge Pump Replacement

The Town Board authorized the expenditure from the Skyridge Water District for the removal and replacement of the submersible pump at a rate of $3420 as outlined in the proposal. 

Highway Professional Services 

  • The Town Board approved the selection of CNY Land Surveying to complete the land surveying related to the expansion of the highway garage in the amount of $6,928. 
  • The Town Board approved the selection of Kenney Geotechnical for geotechnical services related to the expansion of the highway garage in the amount of $12, 640.
