Town Board Highlights - September 25, 2024

 Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 09/25/2024

Open Podium
Mary Teske of Fayetteville inquired if the questions regarding the Bowman Rd Solar were answered that were asked in a previous meeting during open podium. Supervisor Deer advised that the certificate of completion has not been issued since the screening has not been completed. Ms. Teske also inquired when the assessment would begin for the project on Burdick St. Supervisor Deer explained that the assessment process would begin once construction begins and on an annual basis. Lastly Ms. Teske inquired about the executive session the board entered during the last meeting. Supervisor Deer explained how an article 7 worked and that the executive session was setting the terms of the settlements for the Craftsman’s Inn and Towne Center Retirement Community.

Retirement – Debi Witzel
Supervisor Deer and the Board thanked Debi Witzel for her 18 years of service and congratulated her on her recent retirement.

Public Hearing – Proposed Local Law – Property Tax Cap Override 
The Board held a public hearing regarding proposed local law Overriding the Property Tax Cap in the Town of Manlius for the Fiscal Year 2025. Residents had the opportunity to speak in favor or opposed as well as ask questions. The Board made a motion to approve Local Law 2024-6 Overriding the Property Tax Cap in the Town of Manlius for the Fiscal Year 2025.

Public Hearings – Fayetteville, Minoa, and Manlius Fire Protection Districts
The Town Board set a date for three separate public hearings regrading entering into contracts with the Village of Fayetteville, Village of Minoa, and Village of Manlius to provide ambulance and fire services to their respective fire protection districts on October 9, 2024, starting at 6:31 PM.

Tentative Budget
Supervisor Deer presented Town Clerk Grevelding with the Tentative Budget for 2025.

Town of Manlius Police Department -
The Board made a motion to approve the Town of Manlius Police Department to declare 3 former patrol vehicles as surplus vehicles to be auctioned via the County Auction through GovDeals.

Social Media Archiving – CivicPlus-
The Board approved the contract with CivicPlus for Social Media Archiving for the term of October 2, 2024, thru December 31, 2025, in the amount of $4,688.00.

Budget Transfers
The Board approved two transfers from Town Board Contractual account to Records Management Account for Scanning project with Avalon and 2 new Scanners for the Clerk’s office.

Town Of Manlius Justice – Assistance Program Grant Application-
The Board made a motion to authorize the Town of Manlius Justice Court to submit a grant application for a grant up to the sum of $30,000.00 from the Justice Court Assistance Program for upgrades.
