 Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 06/12/2024

Open Podium:
Steve Benson of Manlius cautioned the Board on taking on multiple large capital projects at the same time. Mr. Benson also inquired about the development of the Ethics Committee and where the Board was in the process. 

Mary Karpinski of Manlius spoke regarding the Ethics Committee. Mrs. Karpinski also inquired about the Development Planning Committee that was voted on during the June 12, 2024, Board Meeting and requested that more information on the committee be available on the website. The Town Clerk will be working with the Code Enforcement Officer in the near future to get a page on the Town’s Website.

Public Hearing – To Consider Dissolving Skyridge Water District Extension No. 1 (Resulting in the Diminution of the Skyridge Water District)
The Town Board held a public hearing on the proposed Local Law. Residents asked questions, spoke in favor, and in opposition of Dissolving Skyridge Water District Extension No. 1. The Board made a motion to adopt the resolution to adopt an order dissolving Skyridge Water District extension number 1, resulting in the Diminution of the Skyridge Water District. This motion was passed unanimously.

Public Hearing – Proposed Purchase Agreement with Twin Shores Property LLC for the Parcels Located at 5424 and 5430 Burdick St N, Town of Manlius County of Onondaga
The Town Board held a public hearing on the proposed Purchase Agreement with Twin Shores Property LLC for the parcels at 5424 and 5430 Burdick St N as a site for a new Town Hall and Police Department. Residents asked questions, spoke in favor, and in opposition of the proposed purchase agreement with Twin Shores Property LLC. The Town Clerk’s Office received several emails and letters from residents in favor and opposed to the proposed purchase agreement, as well as requesting further information. Below are the emails that were received in the Clerk’s office.

2024 Recreation Staffing
The Board approved the Recreation Staffing for 2024.

2024 F-M School Bus Lease
The Board approved the 2024 F-M School Bus Lease for the Summer Playground Program.

Boardroom Furniture
The Board approved the purchase of new Board Chairs, Resident Chairs and Tables for the Boardroom in the amount of $17,572.67.
