Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 04/24/2024
Town Clerk:
Town Clerk Allison Weber submitted her resignation letter to the board with an effective date of April 30, 2024. The board appointed Deputy Town Clerk Carrie Grevelding effective May 1, 2024 to fill the Town Clerk Vacancy with a term ending December 31, 2024.
Open Podium:
Mary Kapinski of Manlius gave recognition to Town Clerk Weber for her service as the Town Clerk. Thanked her for her 16 years of service and work she has provided to the residence of the Town of Manlius.
Chris Iles of Manlius inquired about an update on the aquatics center for Manlius. Councilor Nesci that there was a meeting that was scheduled on April 29, 2024, with the time and location to be determined.
Residents from Fremont Meadows brought concerns regarding the smell coming from Meadowbrook Limestone Wastewater Treatment Plant. Counselor Nesci requested that the Town Board inquire with the County as to what was being done. The Town Board agreed to draft a letter to the county.
Public Hearing - Proposed Local Law Amending the Residential Transitional (RT) Zoning Classification To Allow And Regulate Cannabis Dispensaries
This public hearing was left open from the previous Town Board meeting that was held on 04/10/2024. Supervisor Deer gave an update on the revisions that were made. Residents had the opportunity to speak regarding their concerns. A motion was made and passed for Local Law 2024-3 Amending the Residential Transitional (RT) Zoning Classification to Allow and Regulate Cannabis Dispensaries.
Authorizing Resolution for The Creating the Quarry Commission for the Town of Manlius
The Town Board approved the resolution for Creating the Quarry Commission for the Town of Manlius.
RFP – Engineering Services
The Town Board authorized the publication of a RFP for Engineering Services for the Skyridge Water District Infrastructure Improvements.
Feasibility Study Presentation
Supervisor Deer, Deputy Town Manager Blyther, Chief Cassalia, Operations Commander Stanton, and Lieutenant Snyder presented information on a the Feasibility Study of both Town Hall and current Police Station.
