 Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 09/11/2024

Open Podium
Kevin and Dawn O’Hara from Fayetteville requested the Board’s assistance with a Pro-Rated School Tax Bill they received. They also spoke regarding the assessment process.

Matthew Denton of Manlius spoke regarding the Tax Cap and the effect it will have on the taxes if it is passed. Mr. Denton also spoke regarding the Quarry Monitoring costs that should be put on the company and not the residence through higher taxes.

Public Hearing – Proposed Zone Change for Seven Pines – 8104 Cazenovia Rd
The Town Board held a second public hearing for the proposed zone change for Seven Pines where residents had the opportunity to speak in favor and opposition to the proposed zone change. The Town Board made a motion to enact Local Law 2024-5 for the application Hogan DRS, LLC for a change of zone from Restricted Agricultural (RA) to Residential Multiple Use (RM).

Quarry Commission – Member
The Town Board appointed Gerry Gould as a member of the Quarry Commission.

Creation of Reserves Funds
The Town Board approved the resolution for Establishing a Capital Reserves Fund.

Public Hearing – Local Law – Property Tax Cap Override
The Town Board set a date for proposed Local Law regarding the Property Tax Cap Override for the fiscal year of 2025 on September 25, 2024, at 6:35 PM.

Public Hearings – Fayetteville, Minoa, and Manlius Fire Protection Districts
The Town Board set a date for three separate public hearings regrading entering into contracts with the Village of Fayetteville, Village of Minoa, and Village of Manlius to provide ambulance and fire services to their respective fire protection districts on September 25, 2024, starting at 6:31 PM.

Public Hearings – Preliminary Budget
The Town Board set a date for a public hearing regarding the Preliminary Budget for the Fiscal Year 2025 on November 6, 2024, at 6:35 PM.

Other Business
Councilor Bollinger announced that they Watershed Stewards would be holding an event with ESF & RIT on October 3rd and 4th at Mill Run Park doing water sampling with students.

Councilor Nicholson announced that we will be beginning to work on deer management for this year in the very near future.
