Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 08/27/2025
Open Podium
Craig Dudczak of Fayetteville discussed the lack of communication with the public in regard to the Quarry Commission.
Cheryl Matt of Fayetteville inquired about the Economic Development Committee. Ms. Matt questioned the status of the committee, who was on the committee, and why it was not on the website with the other Town Committees.
Matthew Denton of Manlius inquired about different budget items. Mr. Denton asked that the board not utilize the tax cap override for the 2026 fiscal year as well as the budget presentation being broken down more by department this year to make it easier for residents to understand. Mr. Denton also suggested that the Economic Development Committee should include residents.
Dave Marnell of Fayetteville inquired about receiving documents regarding the bids for the renovation study.
Town of Manlius Police Department - Community Service Officer
The board approved adjusting the Civilian Community Service Officer role with the Town of Manlius Police Department from a part-time to a full-time position.
Award Bid - Burdick Genesee Corridor Study
The board accepted the proposal from Barton & Loguidice for the Burdick Genesee Corridor Planning in the amount of $80,000.
Tree Commission - National Grid Rebate
The board approved the submission of the application to National Grid 10,000 trees rebate by the Town of Manlius Tree Commission Co-Chair.

The board set a date for a public hearing to discuss the entry for Fremont Meadows on September 24, 2025 at 6:35 PM.

The board set a date for a public hearing regarding entering into a contract with the Village of Fayetteville to provide ambulance and fire services to the Fayetteville Fire Protection District on October 8, 2025, at 6:31 PM.

Councilor Gonzalez-McCurdy announced that the Age-Friendly Survey was still active on the website. The Survey is built to better understand the demographics of the Town. The Survey, hosted by AARP, is built to better understand the needs of residents as they age. Everyone aged 45 and over can participate.
