Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 11/19/2025
Open Podium
Ed Theobald of Minoa commented on the budget and the effects of the tax increase and rising assessments.
Jason Catalino of Fayetteville commented on a key statistic from the school board with 18% of the students in the district are classified as Economically Disadvantaged and urged the board for next budget cycle to stay at the 2% cap.
Matthew Denton of Manlius commented on maintaining the budget.
Mary Teske of Fayetteville inquired about the vote that occurred after executive session.
Public Hearing - Tax Cap Override
The public had the opportunity to speak in favor or opposition as well as ask the board and village representatives questions regarding the proposed Local Law for the 2026 Tax Cap Override. The board adopted Local Law 2025-6 Tax Cap Override for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
2026 Budget - Adoption
The board approved the changes to the 2026 preliminary budget as presented and adopted the 2026 Budget with the approved changes.
OCWA- Proposed Hydrant Yeaworth Lane
The board approved the proposed hydrant #4250063 for Yeaworth Lane Town of Manlius as presented by Onondaga County Water Authority and authorized the supervisor to sign the highway department permit application submitted by Onondaga County Water Authority for the installation of an additional hydrant and 12” main replacement along Yeaworth Lane, Town of Manlius.

Town of Manlius Police Department - Sale of Surplus Vehicles & Tires
The board declared a 2018 Black Ford Explorer with 66,890 miles and 82 tires as surplus and authorize them to be auctioned via the county auction through GovDeals.
Other Business
Councilor Nicholson advised that the Deer Survey would be set to close at the end of November. He also announced that the Watershed Stewards would be holding their Winter Celebration on December 16, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Seneca Street Brew Pub located at 315 E Seneca St, Manlius, NY.
